A Harp.

Gregory brought in a lovely little harp. It is a symbol of Ireland.

Class News

Maeve's brother made his Holy Communion.

Chuks and Javier came to say a poem for us. They were from Ist Class and were very good.

We read a story about Lucy Leek . She had lots of vegetable friends and they visited Italy, Austria, Poland, Wales and Ireland in the story.

Michael brought in his football medal to show us.

Muireann has lots of badges from the Girl Guides.

The Tooth Fairy was busy in our class this week. She took Eabha MyahRose and Ella's teeth.

Alison , Lara and MyahRose were busy building at activity time.

Titanic Models.

Jake's is an old model. It is missing a funnel and had 22 lifeboats. Lara got hers last weekend in Belfast, where Titanic was built.

We learned about Tutunkhamun this week.

He was a Pharoah in Egypt when he was only 8 years old.

He died when he was 18 and his body was placed in a secret tomb in the Valley of the Kings. A man called Howard Carter found his tomb 87 years ago . It was full of beautiful golden things . King Tut's mummy was found inside his sarcophagus.

Brigid has arrived in Canada!

Hi Noelle,
Brigid the Bear has arrived safely! I found her in my mailbox on Monday morning - however she apparently arrived last week. Unfortunately, I was away with my own sick children! A mother's job never ends! The children met her on Tuesday when they arrived and were so excited! We hung up the postcards and found a good place for Brigid to sit. Many of them wanted to sit and read with her throughout the day as well! Very cute! Anyway, we have some exciting events lined up over the next couple of weeks, so we will do our best to include Brigid and take some photos! The firefighters are coming to our school for a visit next week, we have a school Mass this Friday and we also have a school BBQ coming up!
Anyway, I'll let you know when she is on her way home!
How are our bears doing? Hope they are behaving themselves!

Growing Plants

Titanic

We know a lot about the Titanic now. Muireann's sister and her friend did a project in their class on the Titanic and they brought it down to show us. They had a picture of Captain Smith and they had a great drawing of the Titanic too.
Tomorrow we are going to pretend we are reporters writing the story and we will make our own newspaper front pages just like long ago. !

News

Cormac brought in a special medal medal to show us. It belonged to his Dad. It was really interesting. On the front was a picture of the moon landings and on the back pictures of the three astronauts on the the space ship Apollo 11. Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon.

Will the Engineer!

Will made an amazing plane from Lego. It had really wide wings and flashing lights at the front . Will was able to open it and show us the passengers. ...a lego man and his puppy! We were really impressed with Will's construction.
